March 27 – Grand Rapids Symphony – 7:30 p.m.

The Grand Rapids Symphony and cogr-symphony-2011-247nductor John Varineau return to the Dogwood Center on Wednesday, March 27 for a sure to be incredible performance! Join us and you will experience a world-class orchestra performing for you live at the Dogwood!
The evening’s program will include ballet musical selections from Faust by composer Charles Gounod, Aram Khachaturian’s “Gayane’s Adagio” from Gayane, Czech composer Smetana “The Moldau” from Ma Vlast, Mozart’s popular “Marriage of Figaro”, “Children’s Corner Suite” by composer Claude Debussy and featuring the artwork of Newaygo County youth, and Borodin’s “Polovtsian Dances”.
A wonderful evening with a wonderful orchestra!

March 9 – Grand Rapids Ballet "Program Three" – 7:30 p.m.

Grand Rapids Ballet’s “Program Three” is a mixed repertory program and a gr-ballet-web-size great way to experience a diverse selection of works all in one night!  Classical, neoclassical, and contemporary choreographers George Balanchine, Olivier Wevers, and Kirk Peterson.  “Program Three” includes “Amazed in Burning Dreams”, “The Sofa”, and Balanchine’s “Who Cares”.
“Who Cares?” – George Balanchine’s exuberant hit to the music of Gershwin comes to the Dogwood Center.
“Amazed in Burning Dreams” – Choreographed by Kirk Peterson with music from  Philip Glass’ score for the 1985 film Mishima, this work presents mind-boggling stamina, polished choreography, and sci-fi trimmings.
“The Sofa” – The latest work by Olivier Wevers premiered at Grand Rapids Ballet’s innovative dance series MOVEMEDIA in 2012 to rave reviews…and now it comes to the Dogwood Center!
